Jefferson County’s Annual Community Preparedness Day
Jefferson County’s annual community preparedness gathering returns Saturday, June 27 at Finnriver Farm & Cidery in Chimacum, starting at 10am. All County Preparedness Day is free, open to all Jefferson County residents, and features 30+ community booths, 10 workshops, hands-on resilience activities, and FREE strawberry shortcake!
Presented by The Production Alliance and Jefferson County, this year’s event is all about local resilience through community networks. The morning will feature education on a variety of emergency preparedness topics. Afternoon activities begin at noon, with Resilience Games such as bucket brigade, tug of war, three-legged race, and kids obstacle course.
Among the 30+ participating organizations are East Jefferson Fire Rescue, Jefferson County Public Health, the Red Cross, Jefferson Healthcare, Local 20/20, NPREP, Dove House, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and Power Trip Energy Corp, which will present at 11am on solar and battery backup systems for home energy resilience.
All County Preparedness Day is free to attend. Jefferson Transit routes #1 Brinnon and #6 Tri Area Loop serve the Finnriver site.
